Lean Leadership

Lean leadership is a management philosophy and set of behaviors of enabling people and improving systems by removing obstacles, developing capability, and creating the conditions for continuous improvement. Sustained practice drives measurable improvement across quality, delivery, and cost.

Our Approach in Implementing Lean Leadership

Common Foundation

Create a shared Lean Leadership language. Ensure all levels of the organization are exposed.

Baseline Assessment

Assess the organization’s current maturity (self- or external assessment). Identify gaps to the desired level of implementation

System Integration

Choose, prioritize, and plan the implementation. Evaluate resources. Establish governance and integrate into daily and weekly management routines.

Sustainment

Establish ambassadors. Build management routines and support leaders through ongoing coaching.

Lean Leadership principles must be supported by systems and tools. The model below, inspired by the Shingo Model, shows how principles are translated into daily practice.
